  The UNISSCA/ESGCA Alumni Association has congratulated the management, staff and students of Government College, Ado-Ekiti, following the emergence of one of its students, Yusuf Quazim, as the overall winner of a statewide quiz competition organised at the Ekiti State House of Assembly. The Global President of the association, Mr Olamilekan Olowe, conveyed the congratulatory message on behalf of the National Executive Council (NEC), Board of Trustees (BOT) and members of the alumni body. Islamic group seeks stronger security measures, improved student welfare

Seecurity The Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria, Lagos State Area Unit, has called for stronger measures to tackle insecurity, improve students’ welfare and expand educational opportunities across the country. The new President of the society, Dr Ajibola Salami, made the call on Monday during his inauguration and that of other new executive members of the society. The inauguration held at the Bagauda Kaltho Press Centre, Alausa, Ikeja. Salami said Nigerian students and youths were facing economic hardship, insecurity, rising educational costs and unemployment. Lagos council unveils secretariats, 3 PHCs to boost healthcare

Lagos agency disburses N15bn to 20,000 MSMEs, creates 320,000 jobs

  Disbursement By Aderonke Ojediran  The Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF) has disbursed N15 billion to about 20,000 Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the state. The Executive Secretary of LSETF, Mrs Feyisayo Alayande, disclosed this at a news conference on Monday at Alausa, Ikeja, during which she gave account of the agency’s stewardship in the past decade.   Alayande said that LSEFT also facilitated creation of more than 320,000 direct and indirect jobs. She said that the achievements reflected Lagos State Government’s commitment to reducing poverty and expanding economic opportunities for residents through access to finance and enterprise support. Hajj 2026: 1,600 Lagos pilgrims return safely from Saudi Arabia

No fewer than 1,600 pilgrims from Lagos State who participated in the 2026 Hajj in Saudi Arabia have returned safely to Nigeria, marking the successful conclusion of the state’s pilgrimage operations. The arrival of the final batch of 187 pilgrims at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, on Saturday brought the 2026 Hajj exercise to a close. Speaking with journalists at the airport, the Amir-ul-Hajj and Lagos State Commissioner for Home Affairs, Mr Ibrahim Layode, described the exercise as successful, attributing the achievement to adequate planning, teamwork and the exemplary conduct of the pilgrims. “We give all glory to Almighty God for the successful completion of this year’s Hajj journey to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. ” It was a success achieved through teamwork and consciousness of purpose,” he said. Lagos intensifies environmental advocacy, urges daily sanitation culture

The Lagos State Government has pledged to intensify advocacy for voluntary environmental cleanliness as the second edition of the monthly environmental sanitation exercise was held across the state’s Local Government Areas and Local Council Development Areas. The Wife of the Governor, Dr Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, participated in the exercise in Alimosho Local Government Area alongside the Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Mr Tokunbo Wahab. Others at the exercise included the Special Adviser to the Governor on Environment, Mr Rotimi Akodu, members of the Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials, and other government officials.
