Lagos businessman Abiodun Bolarinwa appeals judgment, seeks fair hearing

  In it's attempt to get justice, convicted businessman, Abiodun Bolarinwa, has approached an appellate court to upturn his conviction. Bolarinwa in a five grounds appeal, urged the court to help determine if the lower court accord him fair hearing. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, following the conviction of Abiodun by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo of a Lagos Special Offences Court, sitting took possession of a property on 1A, Joke Ayo Street, Riverside Estate, Alagbado, Lagos. The anti graft agency also take possession of other assets in the property, including a Range Rover Sport Utility Vehicle, SUV, a black BMW car, a black Toyota Land cruiser car, and a white Toyota Hilux and handed the same property over to the victim, Mr. Bamidele Safiriyu Olusegun. Justice Taiwo had on July 8 2022 convicted and sentenced Abiodun to seven years imprisonment and ordered him to forfeit all the proceeds of the crime.   Album By Aderonke Ojediran Lagos, Dec. 21, 2023 (NAN) Nigerian singer, songwriter, and record executive, Oluwatosin Ajibade, popularly know as MR Eazi, has described his mnew album, titled, “The Evil Genius”, as a body of work and encompassment of his journey in life in recent times. Mr Eazi said this on Wednesday night at the listening party of the new album, held at Windsor Gallery, Victoria Island, Lagos. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the 16-track album, a fusion of music and art has also been showcased in Accra and London. According to him, the album is a seamless blend of visual art and musical creativity. “To begin with, this album was made for me; the different seasons of life; baring my heart out, no holding back. When your personal story can inspire you, it’s liberating. “The first track of the album, Oluwa Jor ( God please). Going to the ICU to check on my mum everyday got me thinking about life, from my pondering I realised life is all about sacrifices.

Winners emerge at Ayodeji Adekunle squash championships

  Winners have emerged at the second edition of the Ayodeji Adekunle South-West invitational U- 13 and U- 16 boys and girls served-off from Dec which served-off  from Dec.14 to Dec. 16 at the Ibadan Recreation Club Oyo State. The Ayodeji Adetunji Adekunle Foundation, have consistently promoted squash's development most especially at the grassroots level, the maiden edition of the Prof. Ayodeji Adekunle championships. No fewer than 40 players from across the South-West participated in the tournament, six players represented from Lagos State, five players from Ondo State, four players each from Osun and Ogun. Booze.ng CEO raises concern over fake alcoholic products

By Aderonke Ojediran Lagos, Dec. 2, 2023 (NAN) Mr Temidayo Kafaru, the Chief Executive Officer of Booze.ng, has expressed concern over the rising sale of fake alcoholic beverages in the country. He said the issue of fake alcoholic products was worrisome due to high consumption during Christmas and New Year celebrations. Kafaru made the remarks in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Saturday in Lagos. He said part of the solutions to the surge in counterfeit products, especially during the yuletide season, was to bridge the gap between premium, legitimate offerings and the prevalence of substandard alternatives.
