Asaba, April 15, 2024 (NAN) )Mrs Chinwe Ijeoma Founder, Coding for My Child urged parents to invest and ensure their children learn computer coding to improve their creativity and problem-solving skills.

Ijeoma said this on Monday at the Tech and Career Fest entitled “Evolving Technology” held in Asaba.

She said that learning basic computer coding and programming languages could help children and youths have a better understand of how the modern world works, and eventually shape the digital future.

“My advice is that no matter how small it is if you can give yourself an hour every week to learn programming languages starting from the basics it will go a long way.

“The youths need to come back to the point where they have a mindset to learn not just to make money because everything surrounding technology is about solving problems.

“Each of the programming languages is solving a problem behind the scene,  so they should understand solving problems, bringing out value as well learning the creative side of technology which is programming,” she said.

She said that today’s program is apt urging  youths to understand the area they need to be in while tech is evolving because whether we like it or not, the revolution is about technology.

“This revolution is evolving every single minute and every moment and every youth starting from even children should be made to key in.

“I was glad seeing children among the audience because if I was exposed to technology when I was six years old, maybe by now I should be very far from where I am right now,” she added.

Mr Charles Omodia Founder of Schoolville urged Nigerian youths to key into technology industry saying that tech is the fastest way to get into digital world.

“As it stands today you do not necessarily need to travel abroad now to earn in foreign currency, you can be in Nigeria and with remote job you can evolve a lot of things.

“The shift is already there it is evolving as today’s topic is, a lot of person can key into the process either with Fin-tech or Agric-tech, or the Edu-tech all we should do is to encourage the community.

“Youth should always be patience because there is no quick way of making money, when you are good in what you do money will eventually come.

“So they should first and foremost identify the problem then proffer a solution that is all about building a minimum viable product.

“Youths should focus more on  the direction of the tech industry I said it before the western countries have all evolved in connection to technology.

“If you look at the global community today a doctor now has become more proficient and professional because he is using tech related equipment to perform a surgery.

“Automation is what tech is heading to, to change the narratives.

“Though investment and physical infrastructure in technology is expensive at the long run you will make and save a lot of money so it reduces overhead cost of running businesses so tech is the future,” he said.(NAN)(nannews.com.ng)
