GTI assures fans of live coverage for NPFL Matchday 2

   The GTI Group, strategic partners of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), says the Matchday 2 encounter between Ikorodu City and El Kanemi Warriors will be broadcast live on major platforms. The Head of Media and Publicity, GTI Group, Andrew Ekejiuba, disclosed this in a statement on Saturday in Lagos. Ekejiuba said the match, scheduled for Sunday, would be aired live on the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) Network Service and the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA). He added that fans could also stream the game on the NPFL Live App, courtesy of Propel Sports Africa. “The highly anticipated clash comes up on Sunday, Aug. 31, at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos, from 5:30 p.m. “We invite football enthusiasts to stay tuned for thrilling live commentaries as we bring the NPFL experience closer to the fans,” Ekejiuba said.

Sanwo-olu endorses partnership with NBA-Nigeria for basketball development

Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, says his administration is committed to partnering with the Nigerian leadership of the National Basketball Association (NBA) to strengthen and accelerate basketball development across the state. Sanwo-Olu said NBA Nigeria’s plan to create pathways for young athletes through exposure and international recognition aligned with his administration’s vision of using sports as a tool for empowerment, social inclusion and economic growth. The governor’s assertions are contained in a statement signed by his Special Adviser, Mr Gboyega Akosile on Friday. Lagos govt unveils ‘identifier’ project to revolutionise property identification

The Lagos State Government on Tuesday, has unveiled the pilot phase of its innovative “Identifier” project, a digital addressing system aimed at streamlining house numbering and street naming across the state. Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu launched the initiative at the Nigeria Land Titling, Registration and Documentation Programme, organised by the Lagos State Office of Electronic Geographic Information System (e-GIS) and Urban Development, in Victoria Island. Sanwo-Olu said that the project would give every property in the state a unique digital identity, enhancing navigation, service delivery and urban management. “With the ‘Identifier’ project, we are laying the foundation for a smarter, safer and more efficient Lagos. “Every home, office and building will now have a traceable and verifiable address, which will improve not just navigation, but also emergency response, revenue collection and city planning," the governor said. Sanwo-Olu unveils 7 key road networks in Badagry

  Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, on Wednesday, unveiled seven newly upgraded road networks in Badagry Local Government Area and Olorunda Local Council Development Area (LCDA) to drive infrastructure development and boost economic activities. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the 16.4km  roads include reconstruction of 3.3km hospital road(Phase 1), construction of 7km Samuel Ekundayo-Toga road (Phase 1 and 2), as well rehabilitation and upgrading of the Aradagun-Mosafejo-Ilado-Imeke road (Phase 3). According to him, these roads will positively impact the lives of Lagosians, especially those in the Badagry division. Sanwo-Olu reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to infrastructural development. Lagos takes financial literacy campaign to 200 women in Ikorodu communities

  Campaign  The Lagos State Government has reiterated its commitment to promoting Human Capital Development (HCD) through increased advocacy for financial inclusion among women in hard-to-reach communities. The Special Adviser to the Governor on Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), Dr Oreoluwa Finnih, gave the assurance during a financial literacy training held for over 200 women in Ijede and Agura-Gberigbe communities in the Ikorodu Division of the state. Finnih, who was represented by her Technical Assistant, Mrs Aasiah Solanke, said the initiative was aimed at empowering women with the knowledge and tools to manage their finances, grow their businesses and contribute meaningfully to economic development. “Many women do not know how to multiply their incomes, and that is why we are here — to educate and train them on financial literacy,” she said. “When you train a woman, you train a community and the society at large.
