2027: Ajose backs Tinubu’s second term, urges party unity
A gubernatorial aspirant in Lagos State, Dr Samuel Ajose, has declared support for President Bola Tinubu’s second term bid, calling on party stakeholders to embrace internal democracy and unity ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Adesina made the declaration on Sunday at the SMA Movement General Assembly held at Grandeur Event Centre, Oregun, Lagos, where party faithful from across the state gathered.
He urged stakeholders to allow a more inclusive and direct process in party affairs, stressing that cohesion within the All Progressives Congress (APC) would be critical to sustaining electoral victories.
"We don't want a repeat of what happened in 2023 to repeat itself, we must deliver Lagos for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
"From the crowd here, you can tell that the SMA Movement across the 360 plus wards are not playing, we will deliver nothing less than 300 votes.
“Stakeholders must prioritise unity and allow a fair and direct process that accommodates the aspirations of members across all levels,” he said.
The aspirant reaffirmed his loyalty to the APC and its leadership, pledging continued support for Tinubu’s administration.
“We are committed to the success of our party and will work tirelessly to ensure victory for APC in all elections, delivering Lagos with wide margins in 2027,” he added.
Ajose also canvassed support for himself, he described himself as a credible governorship prospect from the Badagry axis.
“It is important to promote equity and inclusion in Lagos politics.
"Badagry has yet to produce a governor since the state’s creation, and it is time to address that imbalance,” he said.
The event drew representatives from all the 57 Local Government Areas and Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in the state, including men, women and youths.
Members of the SMA Movement pledged unwavering loyalty to party directives, reiterating their commitment to mobilising grassroots support for Tinubu’s re-election and the APC’s overall success in future polls.
Similarly, Dr Babatunde Masewaku who is the Chairman of SMA Movement thanked members of the SMA Movement for keeping faith. He urged them to remain focused on the focused.
