ASNAT hails Oyo rescue operation
The Association of Nigerian Artisans and Technicians (ASNAT) has commended President Bola Tinubu and the Nigerian military for rescuing abducted schoolchildren and teachers in Oyo State.
In a statement on Tuesday, ASNAT’s Head of Media, Abdulkadir Salihu, said the operation reflected Tinubu’s commitment to protecting lives and strengthening national security.
Salihu said the successful rescue demonstrated the administration’s resolve to combat insecurity through decisive leadership and effective deployment of security assets.
He said the operation aligned with the objectives of the Renewed Hope Agenda, aimed at improving safety and restoring public confidence nationwide.
He praised officers and personnel of the Nigerian Armed Forces and other security agencies for their bravery, professionalism and tactical efficiency during the operation.
Salihu said the troops displayed exceptional courage while navigating difficult terrain to secure the victims’ freedom, describing their actions as patriotism and unwavering dedication to duty.
He, however, expressed sadness over the deaths of two teachers who reportedly died while in the custody of their abductors despite the rescue mission.
He extended condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the peaceful repose of the souls of the deceased teachers.
Salihu also paid tribute to Lt. Felix Ademe Isaac, who died during the rescue operation, describing him as a courageous soldier who made the ultimate sacrifice.
According to him, the late officer’s selflessness and steadfast commitment to duty represented the highest ideals of patriotism, sacrifice and service to the nation.
He prayed for divine comfort for the families of the fallen teachers and the late military officer during their difficult period of mourning.
He urged Nigerians to continue supporting security personnel in their sustained efforts to confront insecurity and safeguard lives across the country.
The media head reaffirmed ASNAT’s support for the Federal Government’s efforts to restore lasting peace and security across Nigeria through sustained collaboration and strategic interventions.
He expressed hope that the country’s improving security situation would pave the way for a safer, more prosperous and productive Nigeria for all citizens. (NAN)
